Lama Thukpo is our current primary teacher at the center. Born in Tibet, he became a monk and joined the Lungkya Monastery to study in the Jonang tradition at 11 years old. During his studies, he entered solitary retreat three times for a total of 10 years. Although a specialist in Kalachakra in the Jonangpa Tradition, he has experience with a variety of schools including the Nyingma, Sakya, and Gelug. He studied under H.H. Penam Rinpoche alongside Tashi Rinpoche and Khenpo Tsultrim. He has lived in Atlanta for the past 20 years as part of the Dorje Ling community and is excited to now be teaching at Dorje Ling.
